Founder & Lead Contractor
Carlton is a Dallas, Texas native with a hands-on background in construction and licensed mold remediation. He launched From This 2 That in 2019 with a clear goal: take full ownership of the work and deliver results the right way, from start to finish.
Before starting the business, Carlton spent years working on projects where he handled only part of the job — brought in for specific tasks while other contractors managed the broader scope. Over time, it became clear he could do more. He understood the full process, saw the gaps in execution, and knew he could deliver a higher standard if he controlled the entire project. That realization led him to build his own company.
His approach is built on trust and communication. He takes the time to understand each customer, walk through the space, and make sure expectations are clear before any work begins. Quality is non-negotiable — from how he enters and protects a home to how the final result looks and performs.
Carlton holds a mold remediation license, which gives him the ability to handle projects that involve water damage, structural remediation, and full interior rebuilds — not just cosmetic work. This credential separates him from most general contractors in the DFW market and reflects the depth of his technical training.
Most of his business comes from referrals and repeat customers — a direct reflection of the experience he creates on every job. He is personally involved in every project, not as a manager who checks in, but as the person doing the work and holding the standard.
“Most of my work comes from word of mouth. That reflects how I treat both my customers and my craft. The job is not done until it meets expectations.”
The Turning Point
Early in Carlton's career, he worked on a home that had suffered severe water and mold damage after a plumbing failure went unaddressed for over a year. The damage had spread through the walls, subfloor, and structural framing. It wasn't a cosmetic project — it was a full remediation and rebuild.
Most contractors would have walked away or subcontracted the hard parts. Carlton didn't. He worked through the remediation, the structural repair, and the full interior rebuild from start to finish. The scope was demanding and the conditions were difficult, but the project got done — and done right.
That project was a turning point. It showed him not only the level of work he was capable of, but also what it meant to take full ownership of a job — not just the easy parts. It also showed him the gap in the market: most contractors either couldn't handle that level of complexity, or they handed it off and lost control of the outcome.
From that moment forward, Carlton made the decision to build his own path. He pursued his mold remediation license, expanded his technical capabilities, and built a company around the idea that a single contractor — with the right skills and the right standard — could deliver a better result than a fragmented team of specialists who don't communicate.
That mindset still drives every project today.

How We Work
These aren't marketing statements. They're the operating standards we hold ourselves to on every project, regardless of size or scope.
Every project is finished to a standard we'd put in our own homes. No visible shortcuts, no hidden ones either. The quality of the work is the standard — not the minimum.
You know what's happening, when it's happening, and why. No chasing us down for updates. We communicate proactively because uncertainty is what makes home projects stressful.
We treat every home as if it's our own. Job sites are kept clean throughout the project, not just at the end. Your space is protected from day one.
When something doesn't meet the standard, we fix it — no debate, no excuses. We stand behind the work we deliver and we don't consider a job done until you do.
