FAQ
Straight answers. No marketing language. If you have a question that isn't covered here, use the estimate form or call Carlton directly.
It depends on scope. A cosmetic kitchen update — countertops, backsplash, paint — runs 1–2 weeks. A full gut-and-rebuild runs 4–8 weeks. A bathroom remodel typically runs 1–3 weeks. We give you a realistic timeline in the quote, not an optimistic one. If something changes mid-project, you hear about it from us before it affects the schedule.
Yes. Carlton holds a Texas contractor license and a mold remediation license. We carry full general liability insurance on every project. You can request proof of insurance before we start — we provide it without hesitation.
Submit your project details through the estimate form on this site. Include a description of the work and a few photos if you have them. Carlton reviews every estimate personally and responds within one business day. There's no cost for the estimate and no obligation.
Yes. We require a deposit to secure your project on the schedule. The deposit amount and payment structure are outlined in the written agreement before any work begins. We don't collect final payment until the work is complete and you've done a walkthrough.
Yes. We serve an 85-mile radius from Dallas and cover the Houston metro as well. There's no travel fee within 30 miles of Dallas or Houston. For projects beyond that, we charge a flat travel fee that's included in your quote upfront — no surprises. Use the travel fee calculator on our Service Area page to check your specific address.
We tell you immediately. Hidden problems — water damage behind a wall, subfloor issues, structural surprises — happen in remodeling. When they do, we document it, explain the options, and give you a revised scope before doing any additional work. We don't proceed without your sign-off on changes that affect cost or timeline.
